Fitness Programs

Serving Kids Hope supports after-school and summer fitness programs for children at risk for childhood obesity. We focus on programs which integrate sound nutrition concepts with physical activity. Both physical fitness and nutrition are essential to achieving and maintaining a healthy weight. Children who eat a nutrient rich diet and incorporate physical activity into a daily routine are less likely to develop many types of diseases, including heart disease, Type 2 diabetes and oral disease. In addition, we recognize that today’s children have an abundance of technology at hand which compromises outdoor play and physical activity, all contributing to the rise in obesity rates.
