This past weekend we were lucky enough to be a part of an amazing event put on by OCCares, an organization that supports other Orange County charitable organizations each year, at their walk to reduce hunger in and around Orange County. This inspiring event educated people and helped to support organizations in the ‘Waste Not OC Coalition’ including: Community SeniorServ, Inc., Food Finders, Orange County Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank and the Orange County Health Care Agency. Some of the main organizers of the event were Janet Nguyen, Dr. Eric Handler as well as Dr. Katherine Ahn, who all have a unique passion to give back to the community. The event took place at Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley, CA, where about 200 people gathered to help OCCares project for 2014. After the walk participants were able to enjoy excellent entertainment, food and games and much more! The simple fact that 1 in 5 children in Orange County will go to bed hungry tonight should be enough to move someone to help, but OCCares took the next step to do something about it and we are very grateful for them!
