Lisa Ackley, JD, CHWC
Lisa Ackley is an attorney, certified health and wellness coach and certified yoga instructor who helps people design, implement and maintain behavior change strategies to improve their health and quality of life. At UC Irvine Health, Lisa primarily worked with diabetic and heart disease patients. She guides her clients through the process of setting, achieving and successfully maintaining their goals. Lisa also offers basic disease and healthy lifestyle education. Her positive and energetic outlook encourages and motivates people to build upon their strengths to consciously choose and implement consistent behaviors to achieve lasting success. Lisa’s goal is to help her clients identify strategies that work best for them, so they have a lifetime of tools to succeed at anything they set their mind to.
Before shifting her focus to health, wellness and fitness, Lisa practiced law for 20 years as a partner in a California law firm. She litigated cases involving health and environmental issues. Many of her cases involved people with illnesses such as cancer, heart or lung disease. The extensive research Lisa conducted on the medical and scientific issues in those cases fueled her passion for and commitment to health and wellbeing through lifestyle change. As a lawyer, she conducted educational seminars and gave presentations throughout the United States on legal, medical and scientific issues.
Derek D. Dundas
Derek is a partner in the firm’s Corporate Section. His practice is concentrated in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, general corporate and securities matters and capital markets. He serves as outside corporate counsel to several public and private companies in a variety of industries, including apparel, Internet, technology, financial services, environmental services, manufacturing, and travel and leisure. Mr. Dundas regularly represents clients ranging from emerging growth companies to those seeking venture capital to large publicly held corporations.
Mr. Dundas represents issuers, private equity firms and investment banks in public and private debt and equity offerings.
Prior to joining Rutan & Tucker in 2007, Mr. Dundas was a partner in the corporate department of Latham & Watkins LLP. Mr. Dundas received his J.D. in 1996 from the Georgetown University Law Center, after receiving a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, at Los Angeles in 1993.
Debra Mathias, COO, OIC
Debra is a seasoned healthcare executive with demonstrated leadership skills in governance, strategic planning, business development, performance improvement, master campus planning, and leadership development. She has led three hospitals and ambulatory programs through turnaround efforts that resulted improved financial and clinical outcomes. Over the past ten years she has worked with numerous adult and pediatric healthcare organizations to develop integrated delivery systems that support population health strategies to improve the overall wellbeing of the community. In addition, Debra has led community health needs assessments for both hospitals and public agencies which identified gaps in the delivery system and led to the development of services and programs that increased access to care.
As the COO of OIC, Debra is working with OIC’s clinical leaders to implement the organization’s master campus plan, develop and implement key performance indicators, and to expand OIC’s service area to better meet the needs of pediatric orthopaedic patients that require OIC’s expertise to diagnose and treat their acute and chronic orthopaedic conditions.
Debra has received her BSN from the University of Arizona and her Masters of Science in Health Administration from the University of Colorado, Denver.
