Our Fit Kid Squad recently enjoyed a sleep under where they harvested veggies they planted last April, had a pool party, and ate a healthy dinner.
Zucchini, tomatoes and romaine lettuce were among the veggies that the Fit Kid Squad harvested. They planted them last April, and were now able to reap the rewards of their hard work!
The Fit Kid Squad made their very own healthy salads: They kept the leaves whole and put them in plastic cups with a simple cupcake liner to make it more festive. The dressing was made with buttermilk and yogurt base. A couple garden tomatoes were added for color and they had a healthy salad!
It can be a challenge to get kids to eat all their veggies, but when presented in a new way as finger food, this romaine salad was a hit!
Afterwards, the Fit Squad enjoyed a pool party complete with water gun shooters and scavenger hunts diving for plastic fruits and vegetables.
